Starting a career with the Ecclesia Group: 48 young professionals begin their apprenticeships and dual study programmes
Supporting young talent is a key component of the Ecclesia Group’s HR strategy. It helps to retain knowledge within the company in the long term, promote intergenerational exchange and attract qualified staff for the future.
For those starting their careers, a practical training period is now beginning, during which they receive professional guidance, work on real tasks from an early stage and gradually take on more responsibility.
Since summer 2024, the Ecclesia Training Workshop has been an important part of the first year of training. It creates a safe space for learning and development, in which trainees develop technical, communication and organisational skills under realistic conditions. Through specific practical tasks, they learn early on to work independently and to develop solutions together with their trainers. In doing so, they experience how advice, teamwork and customer focus interplay in day-to-day working life. The training workshop thus not only supports the transition into working life but also specifically fosters skills tailored to the future demands of the insurance industry.
The new recruits have opted for various training pathways. Most are undertaking an apprenticeship as insurance and financial investment clerks. Other young colleagues are starting a dual degree programme in Risk & Insurance, an IT apprenticeship, and a chef’s apprenticeship at the Ecclesia Bistro.
Birgit Aspin, Chief People Officer of the Ecclesia Group, personally welcomed the new trainees and dual-study students at the main site in Detmold. She encouraged them to contribute their own ideas and to play an active role right from the start. In a constantly changing world of work, openness, a willingness to learn and team spirit are particularly important qualities. “We are delighted that our new colleagues have chosen the Ecclesia Group. They enrich our company with fresh perspectives and ideas. In this way, we grow together and successfully shape the future of our group,” said Birgit Aspin.
