Detmold – The Ecclesia Group is putting its strong growth on a broader footing and expanding its management team. Birgit Aspin was appointed to the management team on January 1, 2024, and as Chief People Officer she is responsible for human resources for the entire group. Thomas Olaynig will take over as head of the Ecclesia Group's “Product and Portfolio Management” division on July 1, 2024. In their new roles, both will report directly to Jochen Körner, CEO of the Ecclesia Group.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to gain two experienced professionals for our management team in Birgit Aspin and Thomas Olaynig,” says Jochen Körner, CEO of the Ecclesia Group. ”This is an important step in working closely with customers and insurers to meet the ongoing growth and increasing internationalization of our group of companies.”

At the beginning of the year, Birgit Aspin assumed overall responsibility for the insurance broker's human resources management. The main task of the 51-year-old professional and leader is to design, implement and further develop the human resources strategy and to internationalize the HR function. The goal is to establish strategic and forward-looking human resources management to continue the sustained growth of the Ecclesia Group and to support it efficiently and effectively.

Most recently, Birgit Aspin was Chief People Officer and a member of the board of the Gegenbauer group, one of Germany's leading building and facility management companies, with responsibility for HR, health & safety and data protection. Prior to that, she held various senior HR positions in medium-sized and large, partly listed international companies in a range of industries. She therefore has an extensive network, the necessary expertise and management experience to successfully lead the HR department.

In Thomas Olaynig, the Ecclesia Group has gained a proven insurance expert with many years of specialist and management know-how. As head of the “Product and Portfolio Management” division, he will drive the group's growth plans forward by designing, implementing and further developing a sustainable and innovative product landscape.

The 42-year-old is currently Head of Corporate Risk & Broking for the DACH region and Poland, as well as Managing Director of Willis Towers Watson GmbH. Prior to that, he worked for the insurance broker Marsh from 2004 to 2022, where he was most recently Managing Director. He is familiar with market developments, has an extensive network and the necessary management experience to successfully manage the complex division.
