Gert Wellhöfer takes over as Chairman of the Management Board at Ecclesia Re
Cologne (ecc). The generation change at Ecclesia Reinsurance-Broker GmbH (Ecclesia Re), the reinsurance broker of the Ecclesia Group, has been completed. Gert Wellhöfer was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Ecclesia Re with effect from 1 December. Klaus Riechmann has retired from business operations.
Gert Wellhöfer will continue to manage the business activities of Ecclesia Re together with Frank Pecks as a further managing director. Gert Wellhöfer's main areas of focus, in addition to overall responsibility, are alternative risk financing, captive concepts and facultative reinsurance business. Frank Pecks continues to focus on treaty business.
Direct access to the reinsurance market through Ecclesia Re, which has now established itself as an independent force, significantly expands the opportunities for the Ecclesia Group for the benefit of its customers. In the tight insurance markets, more and more companies are looking for alternative ways to hedge risks or are considering self-insurance. “We can cover these areas nationally and internationally through Ecclesia Re and also involve the reinsurance market directly for difficult individual risks,” explains Uwe Hingst. He is responsible for product and portfolio management in the management of the largest German insurance broker for companies and institutions.
Klaus Riechmann retired on December 1. Uwe Hingst: “With his 40 years of market experience, Klaus Riechmann enabled our reinsurance broker to get off to a smooth start. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him most sincerely for his work. At the same time, we wish Gert Wellhöfer every success and a sure hand in his duties as Chairman of the Management Board.”
