Training workshop: Ecclesia Group launches innovative pilot project

The Ecclesia Group has launched its new insurance training workshop at its site in Detmold. The employees, in particular 33 of the 49 new trainees and dual students, are benefiting from the pilot project of this modern yet traditional company. The realignment will significantly develop and sustainably improve the professionalization, structuring and quality enhancement of Ecclesia's training.

Detmold – The Ecclesia Group has launched a new training workshop for insurance at its Detmold location. Employees, especially 33 of 49 new apprentices and dual students, will benefit from the pilot project of the modern and at the same time traditional company. The realignment will decisively further develop and sustainably improve the professionalization, structuring and quality enhancement of Ecclesia's training.

“We as a group of companies place great value on innovation. We want to continue to increase the number of our apprentices and dual students with attractive concepts in order to sustainably secure qualified new blood for our growing group of companies,” explains Birgit Aspin. As Chief People Officer and member of the management board, she is responsible for human resources at the Ecclesia Group, the largest German insurance broker for companies and institutions with an international focus. “In the training workshop, we teach basic knowledge as well as professional and social core competencies in the first year of training to prepare them for their work in the Ecclesia Group as well as for their cooperation with our customers.”

This protected environment offers the best opportunities to get to know the work at Ecclesia using the example of direct service customers and to “work independently and on one's own responsibility, delve deeper into processes and continuously repeat important processes and tasks” at this early stage. Almost 10,000 customers of the Ecclesia Group are served directly by the employees. These are mainly smaller social and church institutions, such as institutions and associations under the umbrella of the Paritätischer Gesamtverband, Diakonie and Caritas, kindergartens, social stations, care services, parents' councils, as well as customers from the health industry.

Pia Stohlmann, who manages the group's training as a personnel development officer, and Amelie Wittenbrock, head of the training workshop, played a decisive role in preparing the project. This is part of the new direct service team in Detmold, which was launched in April of this year and is headed by Nadja Bürger and Frank Schultz. Pia Stohlmann: “Our personnel development team and the direct service management team have coordinated the contents and plans for the training workshop in detail. The aim is to create a high level of practical and target group orientation right from the first year. Because the trainees and dual students already work with the real customer base, they learn the business of an insurance broker from the ground up.”

Other Ecclesia locations, for example in Munich, Cologne or Hamburg, also benefit from the experience and know-how of the various methods of the Detmold training workshop. “The personnel development department also offers hybrid specialist teaching and training. This means that trainees from all locations can take part,” says training manager Amelie Wittenbrock.
