What should you do after the damage has occurred?

• If possible, switch off electrical devices or electronic systems, unless this has significant consequences.
• Take photos or videos of the damaged buildings and objects to preserve evidence. Document the water levels.
• Keep damaged items.
• Remove water and mud from the building as soon as possible.
• Remove absorbent materials from the building.
• Ventilate, clean and dry the rooms. However, try to keep mud moist.
• If possible, secure the building to prevent unauthorized entry.
