Trend study on the future of the healthcare market

The Ecclesia Group has planned a comprehensive trend study in collaboration with Gesundheitsstadt Berlin. Publication is scheduled for the end of March 2025.

In the future, health will permeate all areas of our lives. It will become more personalized, more technological, more human and more holistic. “This makes it all the more important to describe a more precise, efficient and people-centered healthcare system that focuses on preventive measures and the promotion of health,” explains Dr. Daniel Dettling, Managing Director of Gesundheitsstadt Berlin and co-initiator of the trend study. The planned trend study “Health Startups made in Germany” aims to do just that. Start-ups play a central role in the transformation of the healthcare market. They act as trailblazers and pioneers of change. With their creative business models and groundbreaking technologies, they are shaping the healthcare of tomorrow.

Gesundheitsstadt Berlin deals with the healthcare world of tomorrow at nationwide congresses such as the National Healthcare Quality Congress and the Digital Forum Health. In addition to clinics, health insurance companies and doctors, this also includes looking at companies and start-ups. Start-ups in particular are drivers and accelerators of change.

The trend study “Health Startups made in Germany” sheds light on how these young companies are changing the market and which trends are particularly relevant. It portrays innovative and forward-looking start-ups from all over Germany. The focus is on central topics and key questions:

Demographic change and digitalization: what solutions are there to combat the shortage of specialists and undersupply in rural areas?
Prevention and longevity: How can we live healthier for longer?
Mental health: How can psychosocial health be improved?
Artificial intelligence: How can staff be relieved and patients better cared for?

The developments described in more detail in the study include prevention, personalization, patient orientation and public health.

We use the trend study to identify potential risks and challenges in good time, and we then incorporate the solutions into our consulting services. This then leads - almost automatically - to the competitive advantages that our partners expect from us as the market leader in the healthcare sector.

Strong partnerships: synergies for the healthcare sector

The Ecclesia Group and Gesundheitsstadt Berlin are the initiators of the trend study. The cooperation is very synergetic. Both organizations have a diverse network of partners and a high level of expertise in the healthcare sector. The cooperation makes it possible to combine different perspectives and gain valuable insights. The partnership strengthens the dialogue with start-ups and other players in the healthcare sector and makes it possible to identify challenges and opportunities at an early stage and proactively realize them. “The continuous exchange of information and best practices promotes innovation and ensures that the Ecclesia Group always has its finger on the pulse,” explains Markus Schäfer, Member of the Executive Board of Ecclesia Versicherungsdienst GmbH. This provides a solid basis for the development of well-founded, practical findings that flow directly into tailor-made insurance solutions for customers.

“We cover new risks arising from changes in the healthcare market,” emphasizes Schäfer. “By integrating the findings into our risk analysis at an early stage and developing insurance products based on them, we can offer services that are precisely tailored to the needs and requirements of the industry.”
