We are working towards a more sustainable future
On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5 June, we launched a group-wide campaign under the motto “We're getting involved – for a more sustainable future”. All employees of the Ecclesia Group were invited to develop projects or ideas in the spirit of environmental protection. As a group of companies, we are sure that even small actions can achieve a lot, especially when we work together. Here we have compiled pictures and short descriptions of some projects for you: Get an interesting insight into the diverse project ideas of our employees.
It is impressive that so many projects are already in the planning stage or have even been implemented. For example, a colleague from Vienna created an emergency kit for thirsty bees: a small pipette with sugar water and instructions for use (1). The pension solutions group (2), our pension specialists based in Erlangen, the legal department (3) and a team from our Belgian subsidiary IC Verzekeringen (4) are just a few of the teams that organized extensive waste collection campaigns. And Corporate Communications spent an afternoon in NABU's show garden: in addition to a planting campaign, birdhouses and feeders were built, along with a wicker fence for the sandarium (5). At our family festival at the Detmold site, participants made seed balls together (6). And whether in Brussels (7), Munich (8) or Detmold: numerous employees came to work by bike instead of by car, formed carpools (9) or switched to public transport for the campaign. Some colleagues even took on a 19-kilometre commute on foot.
We are pleased about the projects and ideas that have already been submitted and all those yet to come, because even if it may only be a small thing in itself:
together we can achieve a lot!
All employees of the group have the opportunity to participate in the environmental hands-on campaign until the end of September. At the end of the campaign, the Ecclesia Group will multiply the employees' efforts and organize a tree planting campaign: the more employees who participate, the more trees Ecclesia will plant, thereby setting an example for environmental protection across the board and rewarding the commitment of the participants.
